1. These portraits are one-of-a-kind artwork signed by the artist. They are custom made for you, with much time involved in the creative process. Because they cannot be resold to another pet owner, they are non-refundable, non-returnable, and non-exchangeable.
2. These portraits are professionally executed, not a cheap "cut and paste" job. Our process involves using professional graphics software with special effects filters, multiple layers, levels of transparency, and color correction. Images can be semi-transparent and airbrushed. We can crop out areas, flip, and rotate objects. Our artists are professional graphic designers with high-end computers and many years of professional experience. We have the special software tools and the expertise to carefully "cut out" your furry pet from the background of your photos with a realistic, airbrushed look. (An amateur job would look like it was cut out with scissors and show a hard edge). We also have thousands of dollars invested in graphics software, hardware, scanners, and our stock library collection.
3. Choose three photos from your snapshot collection. For a pleasing composition, we recommend that you select the following three photos for your portrait. 1) a close-up of your pet's head; 2) a full body photo, either laying down or standing; 3) another full body photo either sitting, in action or with a favorite toy.
4. The close-up photo is a critical part of a successful composition (see templates). It has tremendous impact. You may want to pose your pet to obtain the best results, especially for the close-up of its head. You can have another person hold the animal in position, as long as his or her body is behind the pet. We can "cut out" the person's hands if they are visible in the photo. Photograph your pet against a solid colored wall or sheet for a backdrop. Please make sure that the photos are in focus.
5. More than three photos may clutter up the composition, and will cost you more money. We will provide you with a quote on the extra cost if you want more photos used.
6. Call us at 303-680-2330. We will discuss mailing instructions, payment and composition. At this time we will accept your VISA, MasterCard or American Express 50% deposit of $175.00. We will ask you to select one of the templates and visualize how your three photos will fit in position. If you want a different background, our artist will select from a stock library of beautiful landscapes. We have nature scenes, skyscapes, patterns, and abstract paintings. Select an environment or landscape that meaningfully reflects the personality of your pet (i.e., beach, mountains, forest, etc). We can email several color photo samples. Also, tell us your favorite colors and style (whimsy, playful, serious, etc).
7. Mail us the photos. Be sure to place cardboard on both sides of photos in your package.
8. We will examine your photos and call you with any questions about design or concern about photo quality. Then, we will "blend and fuse" the selected pet photos into the background to create a portrait rich with depth, emotion, color, and meaning. Note: the scanning process will not damage your photos.
9. In two weeks we will express mail you an 8" x 10" color proof in a quality album. If we created a new background that wasn't one of the templates, we may email a color proof first.
10. Call us with your approval of the color proof, then we will output the 16" x 20" print and express mail it to you. We will charge your credit card the balance due on the job. A second 8" x 10" proof print can be purchased for $20.00. Additional copies of the 16" x 20" print are $50.00. Call for prices on larger size prints or canvas media. Additional albums are $30.00. Matting and framing are not available. Please note, shipping charges are NOT included in these prices, and will be added to the bill.
